Japan is notorious for inventing weird food, some good and some bad.

My cousin said we couldn’t leave Japan without eating something weird, so she got each one of us a corn potage ice cream in a waffle cone at Pablo (a dessert chain found throughout Japan).

It looked like an ordinary ice cream, with a faint yellow color. But…

Eating the corn potage ice cream was the strangest, nastiest, brain teasing dessert I ate throughout the trip. It was difficult to eat -let alone finish it- because it tasted completely opposite of corn potage, traditionally eaten as a hot, sweet soup!

We ending up having to finish the ice cream on the spot before it melted, because there were no trash bins in sight until we walked by a McDonald’s… Sadface.
